About
Dr. Nuha Khoury is the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Dar al-Kalima University. An Assistant Professor, she earned her PhD in Medieval Islamic History from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor, where she also completed an MA in Comparative Politics and an MA in Middle Eastern and North African Studies.
Although trained as a medievalist, her research focuses on the modern social history of Palestine, with particular emphasis on the history of education, the use of personal archives as sources for historical writing, and the social history of the town of Bethlehem and its communities. Her work adopts an interdisciplinary approach that connects history with historiography, often drawing on personal letters as primary archival material.
In addition to teaching courses in cultural studies, modern Palestinian history, the anthropology of religion, and medieval Islamic history, Dr. Khoury has been actively engaged in institutional leadership and academic program development.
