Academic Council
An academic body that contributes to the development of the university and the formulation of its academic policies and regulations.
About the Academic Council
The University has an Academic Council whose aim is to contribute to the development and advancement of the university and to the formulation of its academic policies and regulations. The Council discusses the university's academic policies and systems that relate to the university as a whole, and specifically matters that are academic in nature and not limited to a single faculty or institution.
Council Composition
The Academic Council is formed at the beginning of each academic year as follows:
Council Powers

Preparing academic regulations applicable to students and recommending them to the University Council.

Approving study plans, curricula, and proposals for their amendment, development, or cancellation — submitted by college and institute councils, particularly in cases involving interdisciplinary or shared fields.

Approving the awarding of degrees to students who have fulfilled the graduation requirements, based on the recommendation of the deans of the faculties.

Discussing individual student cases referred to it by the Council Chair, and approving the dismissal of students who are deemed deserving of such a decision.
Specialized Committees
The Council organizes its work through specialized committees that meet separately, as follows:
In addition, the Vice President for Academic Affairs may establish specialized committees for a specific purpose, which are dissolved once that purpose has been fulfilled.
Meetings & Sessions
The Academic Council meets in full session at least once a month, and whenever necessary.
The committees meet as needed to facilitate the work of the Academic Council, upon invitation from their chairs.
